Putteridge Bury | 360 Virtual Tour

One of the great things about our work at Striking Places is it enables us to see some of the most historical and beautiful buildings in the country. Putteridge Bury, just outside Luton in Bedfordshire, is a perfect example.

Jo Hailey was introduced to Darren from Putteridge Bury by one of our close networking contacts, June of My Mustard (an awesome pay per click expert by the way mymustard.co.uk). June had seen the work we completed for other historical venues and attractions such as Westminster Abbey and Alexandra Palace and knew it would be a great fit.

Putteridge Bury is an awesome place with incredible features and lots of history. It’s such a perfect venue for weddings conferences and all kinds of other events – including the launch of the Bedfordshire SME awards… Putteridge Bury has also been host to Christmas events, afternoon teas, exhibitions, antiques fairs and much, much more.

Jo says it was so much fun working with Darren, the General Manager of Putteridge Bury. He oversees the conference centre for the University of Bedfordshire and wanted to showcase all the areas used by the conferences and functions part of the business. One of the main parts we wanted to capture was the central staircase it’s an ideal setting for wedding photography should the weather outside not be ideal for photos.

Putteridge Bury can trace its history all the way back to the times of Edward the Confessor, circa 1000 AD, and is even mentioned in the Domesday Book. A new Manor was built in 1556 by Thomas Docwra which still survives today as the Farmhouse.

One of the rooms also has a particularly ornate ceiling that we feel was captured perfectly by the 360 tour. Darren was blown away by the initial static images and we’re making a second visit to capture the grounds and the front very soon.

Here’s what Darren Smith, General Manager of Putteridge Bury has to say:

“I am delighted with the decision to commission Jo to upgrade our online imagery and virtual tour. It has really enhanced our offering and will draw more attention to our products. Striking Places are very easy to deal with and very accommodating.”
