Horticulture House Conference Centre

The Horticultural Trades Association was established in 1899 as an association founded by the members for the members. It is proud to support over 1,500 horticultural businesses throughout the UK. Striking Places has worked with the HTA since March 2016 helping to promote The National Plant Show 2016 and The National Plant Show 2017 by creating virtual tours of the shows as a lasting reminder of who was exhibiting and what the horticultural industry has to offer. Establishing a Google My Business listing to host the Google Street View inside virtual tours allows people all over the globe to see what a fantastic spectacle is created and lets them wander around virtually almost as if they had visited themselves.

In 2017 the HTA moved from their old building in Theale to a magnificent building in Chilton further up into the North Wessex Downs AONB. The HTA were now able to offer their members a amazing facilities in this very grand setting.

What better way to showcase the building and facilities than the latest in 3D virtual tours accompanied by Google Street View inside?

The amazing new 3D scanning and photography technology allows you to see the whole layout of the building in ‘dollhouse’ view while also allowing you to click through and dive into any part of the model. The marketing team also created a showreel that you can experience if you click the play button to the bottom right of the embedded virtual tour below.  The Matterport package also comes with shot intro videos that are great for social media as well as a range of still image. The marketing team were keen to have the full range of services so also chose to have a gallery of professional shot photos of Horticulture House as well; some of which you can see in the banner above.

The Google Street View Virtual Tour of Horticulture House extends all around the ground  floor of the building.  You can navigate throughout using the white arrows just like you can in Google Street View, but inside. Having so many high quality photos published to Google Maps via their Google My Business page means that Horticulture House’s presence is enhanced on Google Maps as well as Google Search and even Google Earth where you can grab ‘Peg Man’

Both of these virtual tours a great for website retention rates and are highly clickable giving the website loads of ‘Google juice’ that means fantastic improvements in your Google Analytics results. The Horticulture House Google Street View virtual tour is receiving over 1,000 views per months. That’s an additional 1,000 people looking inside this building at it’s great facilities making it really memorable to them while encouraging them to turn up in person. Read the amazing testimonial Mark Oughtred from the HTA gave us…

“Jo has created a masterpiece of a virtual tour for us that will significantly enhance our customer experience when considering our meeting and conference venue. Throughout the whole process, Jo has conducted herself impeccably with nothing too much trouble.

She advised of all the options during our preliminary meeting, the quotation process was straightforward and appropriately robust, with the filming itself running smoothly on the day. Thereafter, post production was quick, and all training and support given to ensure we knew how to amend and update of our choosing. As an optional extra, Jo also took some stills photos of our meeting rooms which we are thrilled with. They gave a real sense of the available space and we’ve used these for our website and brochures. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Striking Places again and would ardently recommend Jo to you.”
