Interior Design Virtual Tour | That Design Store

This delightful independent ‘Concept Design Store’ offers contemporary designer lighting, accessories and furniture; the present-day sits comfortably alongside the past in the historic cathedral city of St Albans. The relatively small store stocks a host of in vogue high-end designer brands, all very stylish and highly desirable.

Oliver Zissman and Anthony Matchett, owners of the store, hired Striking Places when the store launched in order to literally put the store on the map. The team understood that with so many retailers out there, That Design Store needed to get potential customers through the door. The brief was to use Google Street View Trusted to increase their online presence with an interior design virtual tour. This would work by utilising the world’s most popular search engine, while enhancing their customer online experience and showcasing their unique designer brand with a virtual walkthrough of the store’s interiors.

The main challenge to this interior design virtual tour project was the sheer volume of shiny surfaces in this space. All those beautiful lampshades and mirrors reflect everything, always a test for photographers. After consultation with the owners, we decided to make the best use of the subtle interior lighting and shoot just as the sun was going down, which also worked a treat for the store frontage.
