Highlights:
Phoenix Construction Herts is a trusted Hertfordshire building firm with over 20 years of experience, specialising in bespoke new builds, extensions, loft conversions, renovations, and external works. Their reputation is built on craftsmanship, attention to detail and the careful management of every stage of construction.
I first connected with Terry Scotchett from Phoenix through Steve Johnston at Divine Designs, which led to a great collaboration. Since then, I’ve documented multiple Phoenix projects using time-lapse video, professional photography, drone and aerial footage, and 3D virtual tours.
Our goal is to provide Phoenix Construction with a complete visual record of each project, from groundbreaking through to completion, for marketing, client presentations, and portfolio purposes.
Time-lapse photography offers a unique way to capture the entire building process, showcasing efficiency, attention to detail, and the property’s transformation over time. These videos, captured every 4–8 weeks throughout construction, provide clients and stakeholders with a clear view of progress. Drone footage complements the time-lapse, providing aerial views of the build as it progresses.
One standout project involved demolishing an existing property in Marshalswick, St Albans, directly across from The Quadrant, a busy local shopping destination. This was a full build from the ground up, and we were engaged to document the process comprehensively.
Time-Lapse & Drone Coverage:
Time-lapse cameras were installed and remained in place for the entire project, capturing the transformation from demolition through to client handover. Approximately once a month, the cameras were updated to capture progress, with drone footage recorded before and after each stage, providing a dynamic aerial perspective of the project’s development.
These updates allowed the client to monitor progress, showcase the project on social media, and maintain a visual record for internal and marketing purposes.
Upcoming 3D Virtual Tour:
Once the build is complete and the client is ready, a final photoshoot will be conducted, along with a 3D virtual tour of the finished property, giving potential buyers an interactive experience of the home.
High-quality commercial photography captures both the craftsmanship and finished results of each build, suitable for brochures, websites, and social media.
In addition to documenting projects, I’ve photographed Terry’s team in action on-site, capturing the people behind Phoenix Construction at work. These images are excellent for marketing, showing clients the skilled team and their professionalism.
Terry also had professional headshots taken, giving him up-to-date images for the website, social media, and other promotional materials. Together, these portraits and team photos complement the project imagery, creating a complete visual story for Phoenix Construction Herts.

3D virtual tours allow potential buyers and stakeholders to explore properties once construction is complete. Terry offers these tours directly to his clients, who appreciate the ability to experience the finished property remotely and build confidence in the quality of the work.
After working with Terry for a while, I realised he didn’t have an up-to-date platform or the time in his busy schedule to upload and display all the shiny new content I was providing. At this point, I introduced Terry to Chloe Briggs of Fifteen Three Digital, who created his website. Chloe has gallery access, allowing her to quickly pull the latest photos, footage, and completed virtual tours for new case studies on the Phoenix Construction Herts website. This ensures the website always features the most current, high-quality visual content.
I also introduced Terry to Megan from FJ Digital, who manages Phoenix Construction’s Instagram account. When I create new content – including completed virtual tours, time-lapse updates, drone footage, and professional photography – I share it directly with Megan. They have access to the gallery and can download content whenever it’s needed, making it easy to keep social media fresh and up to date.
Here’s a Matterport 3D virtual tour from a recently completed Phoenix project:
Terry’s website is a fantastic example of how professional imagery and 3D virtual tours elevate marketing. The gallery, virtual tours, and time-lapse videos we create are used directly on the site to showcase projects in detail. Visitors can explore properties interactively, view high-quality photographs, and see building progress through time-lapse updates, which all contribute to a polished and professional online presence.
Visit the Phoenix Construction Herts website to see the content in action.
Working with Phoenix Construction Herts has been a fantastic experience, highlighting the value of long-term client relationships. Our collaboration has evolved over time to meet changing needs, adding new content types, incorporating drone footage, and creating 3D virtual tours of completed properties that Terry can share directly with clients.
With the introduction of Chloe Briggs of Fifteen Three Digital and Megan at FJ Digital, all content is easily accessible across multiple platforms. Chloe pulls the latest content for the website; Megan uses it on Instagram; and Terry can share it directly with clients. This makes it easy to keep Phoenix Construction’s marketing materials and case studies current, engaging, and consistent.
By embracing new technologies, adapting content to client needs, and providing seamless access to all visual assets, our work helps Phoenix Construction present their projects with clarity, creativity, and impact – while remaining flexible enough to add new content whenever it’s needed.
