The Bike Stop Stevenage | Virtual Tour

If you’re a biker, then a shop like The Bike Stop makes you feel like a kid in a sweet shop!

We first shot Martin Brown’s tour back in 2012 (how times flies!). Martin originally contacted us via Google’s approved list of Street View providers. Being a biker herself (the proud owner of a Baby Bandit – aka Suzuki 600), Jo was really excited about going back to the shop in a professional capacity, having shopped there many times over the years for her own gear – including her favourite pair of boots.

Martin had just taken over the business at the time, and it was great to work with someone so enthusiastic about their business and the industry. Jo had been a regular at the Bike Stop since the 1990s so getting involved in some of the changes being brought in was exciting. The Bike Stop has gone from strength to strength since the initial tour and now incorporates a cafe and runs very popular bike events for the local biking community. For instance, Ducati and Metropolis brought their 15 strong bike fleet to the store on the Stevenage High Street! Take a look here at their bike events for more details.

The Bike Stop is ideal for us bikers; they sell every accessory you need to go with your beloved motorcycle on two massive floors. Because it’s not obvious the space that is available inside, a virtual 360-degree tour was essential to help Martin spread the word about the wide ranges of gloves, helmets, leather gear etc they provide.

Shooting the tour was great fun and we even included a real live person (yes people can be in your tour) – one of the lads got a full set of leathers on and sat on the test frame – which you can see here. The test frame means that when people try on leathers or other motorcycle gear, they can test the comfort while on a ‘bike’. Remember, you can include people in your tour and at Striking Places, we help make it part of the fun!

You can see for yourself how the original tour came out below… and Jo just couldn’t help herself; she left with a great big bag that’s still going strong five years later! It really is all about great quality with these guys.

Martin has been back in contact recently to talk about updating some of his tour and reshoot some of the new aspects of the business. Stay tuned for the next instalment!
